"Drawing represents and is the poetry of oneself" Gentz del Valle de Lersundi, 1996.
Representations made through an object, i.e. clothing, that stem from fashion, are linked to changes in the figure, and represent the changes in the same, reflecting the movement of the body, its thinking and its development in time.
Drawing is the "cheapest" and "oddest" representation, as movement is as regards speech, the changes and thoughts that the body experiences. In clothing garments dress and become the body. And the latter, the clothing, is created from fashion and from the sketches made by the person who created it, from the work process, which always develops as time goes by, in all bodies, with the whole body.
"Liberating the body means asserting the right to look at oneself, taking care of oneself and living a story, ageing without embarrassment and dying without a drama. The dilemma that arises from liberating the body, or freeing oneself from the same, is the most radical and inescapable political decision in our lives". Santiago Alba Rico, Decrecimientos.
Drawing and its practice, is and implies the sampling of the creative process, its value and its power.
The practical work of the course will be outlined by Gentz and Gabriela Muñagorri Mendiola.
